Vision
The vision of the Children's Response Center is for all children to have a safe and nurturing environment; a home and community free of sexual assault and other trauma and the pain and disruption these cause.
Mission
The mission of Children's Response Center is to provide crisis, assessment and treatment services to Eastside sexual assault and traumatic stress victims and their non-offending family members who reside in East and North King County . The Center embraces the talents of a team of professionals, volunteers, and community representatives to provide comprehensive and culturally sensitive health, advocacy, education and prevention services in coordination with community agencies.
Accreditation & Certifications
Children's Response Center has been accredited by Washington State's Office of Crime Victim Advocacy as a Community Sexual Assault Program (CSAP). In addition, the state has certified Children's Response Center as a mental health provider agency through Harborview Outpatient Mental Health Services. The clinical staff are all Washington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSW).
Funding
In its first years of operation, Children's Response Center received start-up grants from the State of Washington. Since then it has received and continues to seek funds from many public and private sources including state and local governments, client fees, fundraising projects, foundations, corporations, churches, service groups and individuals.
For the 2004-2005 fiscal year, sources of support included 45% state and local governments, 26% private fundraising, 13% client fees, 8% in-kind contributions, 4% Aetna Foundation, 3% United Way, 1% restitution.
Public supporters include: State of Washington Office of Crime Victim Advocacy; King County Women's Program; Cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Woodinville, Bothell, Kenmore, and Shoreline.
